Students, employees, and guests of 51Թapp must have a valid paid parking session registered to their vehicle’s license plate to park in any 51Թapp parking lot. Failure to do so may result in a parking violation.
Parking regulations and violations
General Requirements
All vehicles must be properly registered in 51Թapp’s Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) parking system at the meters in the parking lots, through mobile applications, or for staff through our online system. Accurate and up-to-date licence plate information is required.
Violations Subject to a Parking Notice
A violation notice may be issued for any of the following infractions:
- Parking in a lot or area not designated for your permit type. (Parking in the staff parking lots requires staff registration.)
- Parking in spaces reserved for persons with disabilities without a valid permit.
- Parking in a designated Service Vehicle space without proper authorization.
- Parking in non-designated areas (e.g., grass, walkways, or non-marked areas).
- Parking on campus without vehicle registration in the LPR parking system.
- Parked in EV charging stall for longer than the 3-hour limit.
- Parking in an Accessible Parking space without displaying a valid SPARC Disability Decal.
- Having more than one vehicle registered to the same account parked on campus at the same time. Only one registered vehicle per account may be parked on campus at any given time.
- Parking in a carpool zone without a carpool decal
Violations subject to immediate towing
- Use of a fraudulent, altered, or stolen parking permit.
- Parking in a fire lane or adjacent to red/yellow curbs.
- Obstructing traffic or other parked vehicles.
- Unauthorized use of a Loading Zone.
- Unauthorized overnight parking on campus.
- Repeated or excessive parking violations.
Violations subject to wheel clamping
The following infractions may result in the vehicle being immobilized (clamped):
- Repeated or excessive parking violations.
- Parking in a Carpool Zone without a valid carpool permit.
Violation fines
All violations issued on Campus are reduced if paid within seven (7) days. All parking disputes must be appealed to Robbins Parking within seven (7) days of receiving the notification.
- General Parking Violation $60.00
- No Disability Permit Displayed $120.00
- No Parking Zone $120.00
All fines are issued through Robbins Parking and are the responsibility of the registered account holder.
Liability notice
51Թapp is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to vehicles or their contents while parked on campus. Vehicles and property are left at the owner's risk and expense. There is NO overnight parking.
Appeal process for parking violations
Step 1: Robbins Parking (Initial appeal)
Parking violations issued at either Camosun campus are managed by Robbins Parking. If you receive a violation notice, you must contact Robbins within seven (7) days to dispute it:

When contacting Robbins, include your license plate number or payment notice number.
If you haven’t received a response within 7 days of submitting your appeal, follow up directly with Robbins Parking.
Step 2: 51Թapp (Final appeal – optional)
If you’re not satisfied with the outcome of your Robbins Parking appeal, you may submit a final appeal to 51Թapp. This option is only available after the Robbins appeal process has been fully completed, and must be submitted within 5 days of receiving their decision.
