Special CamNews from the President – School Restructuring Reminder

From Dr. Lane Trotter, President

Colleagues, as previously shared, we will be moving to a new school structure, effective March 31. As a reminder, the reorganization is intended to position the college for future success in the wake of at least a dozen major policy reforms over a 10-month period by the federal government to the international student program. Once things stabilize, we want to emerge stronger than ever before.

It has been good to get out and meet with faculty and staff, both in person and online, during school and department meetings. The questions and suggestions have helped guide the college as restructuring plans were finalized.

The new structure reflects the initial from John Boraas, now-retired Provost and Vice-President, Education and Innovation and from Richard Stride, who is Acting Provost and Vice-President, Education and Innovation.

The objective, as outlined in a , is to group similar programming together to take better advantage of synergies and efficiencies in operations as well as promote greater collaboration between related disciplines. The structure will also allow us to spread out the administrative load more evenly. Budget savings will come from running more balanced portfolios with fewer administrators, as well as from improved operational efficiencies.
